Background of the study
Collaborative translation initiatives involve joint efforts by multiple translators, cultural experts, and media professionals to produce high-quality translations that reflect linguistic and cultural accuracy. In Abeokuta, such initiatives have emerged as a means to revitalize and promote Yoruba language media content. These collaborations leverage diverse expertise to produce translations that are more accurate, culturally relevant, and accessible to broader audiences (Akinola, 2023). Statement of the problem
Despite the potential benefits of collaborative translation, Yoruba media content in Abeokuta often suffers from inconsistent translation quality due to coordination challenges and differing approaches among collaborators (Akinola, 2023). This variability can result in media content that lacks cohesion and cultural authenticity (Oluwole, 2024).
